Everything is well underway to take advantage of the awesome surf we have during the green season! You too can have the opportunity to enjoy great waves and endless fun with our team at our next YOLO SUP Experience, October 19-25th, here at Vista Guapa!
In our SUP camps, you not only learn how to SUP, or significantly advance your skills, but you also get to hang out with a great group of new friends.
Vista Guapa offers a unique insider’s experience to the culture of Costa Rica. You will find yourself immediately immersed in the local lifestyle and will be treated as part of the family. At the same time, we introduce you to the amazing world of warm-water ocean surfing and stand-up paddling, or for those that are well along that path, we provide advanced tips and access to the most secluded breaks from one of the country’s top professional surfers: Alvaro Solano, a seven-time national surfing champion and one-time masters champion.
Our camp features instruction by Alvaro as well as a small staff of local, experienced surf and SUP experts. In addition to surfing, a typical stay at Vista Guapa includes transportation to and from the San Jose International Airport, breakfast and dinner each day, an excursion to one of Costa Rica’s national parks or similar cultural activity, and beautiful air-conditioned accommodations in a bungalow overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
“This is a true escape from the daily grind,” says Mark Salvetti, Vista Guapa’s “Chief Inspiration Officer” and one of the guides for the YOLO SUP experience. “A stay at Vista Guapa is a life-changing adventure.”

About the green season in Costa Rica:
The green season is also called rainy season, or Costa Rican winter, and lasts from May through November.
It doesn’t rain all day; you’ll wake to sunny mornings with blue skies and expect some typical showers in between 2 and 4 p.m., sometimes later.
Despite it is our “winter”, temperatures are warm, averaging 70º in the Central Valley and 80º on the coast.
The term “green” season perfectly summarizes the country’s look during this time of year. Everything comes alive, with verdant landscapes, and wonderful events like turtle nesting in Hermosa Beach.
But here comes the most important fact: Green season months are also the best for one of the country’s top activities: surfing at the Pacific Coast!
