We recently had the pleasure of hosting a very special camp here at Vista Guapa Eco Lodge; the Yolo Mother/Daughter SUP and Surf Camp with group leader and Yolo brand ambassador, Leah Seacrest. This week-long camp delivered a perfect balance between fun and excitement, and rest and relaxation for both mothers and daughters alike. What made this camp so special was not only the quality time that it allowed our mother/daughter teams to spend together, but also the new friendships and memories made here that will be everlasting. Nowadays, people are leading busier lives which can create quite a challenge in finding the time and energy to bond with family and friends. This camp provided our guests with a very memorable vacation by taking part in surf and SUP, sight seeing, and plenty of relaxation time in between.
Each day, the group started their mornings with a spectacular breakfast made right here in our kitchen, by our lovely staff, Mami and Maria. The group then headed out to Playa Herradura for their morning SUP sessions where they got to enjoy calm conditions at sea and soft glistening morning sunlight.
After the fun SUP sessions, the group would go out on a tour to see some of Costa Rica’s most beautiful attractions. One attraction in particular that really thrilled our guests was the trip to world renown Manuel Antonio National Park, only one hour and a half away. Our guests were greeted by the cute, yet mischievous Capuchin Monkeys who make the national park their home. After a nice lunch in Manuel Antonio, everyone returned to the camp. The girls had plenty of time to relax down by the pool or sit on the porch with a good book, while enjoying the breath-taking views of the town of Jaco down below.
The group’s afternoons were spent on the beach, surfing and stand-up paddling along with our fabulously fun instructors, Gaby, Anthonny and David. With salty hair and sandy skin, our group was having a real blast catching wave after wave in near perfect conditions. There were smiles ear-to-ear on everyone’s faces as the session ended with a brilliant sunsets in the evenings.
Kids grow up fast. That’s one thing that any parent will agree on. There’s nothing greater for a parent than watching their children laugh and play, while creating memories that are sure to be recounted endless times over in many years to come.
