Our Location (Jaco Beach)

Playa Jaco (Jaco Beach) is a surf town located along the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, about one hour south (driving) of the port town of Puntarenas and one tour north of the national park Manuel Antonio. Jaco´s long and beautiful beach and its proximity to San Jose make it very popular among the Costa Rican and foreign tourists alike. The town of Jaco has lots of facilities, from banks to surf shops, night clubs and casinos, grocery stores and hair salons to cater to its locals and many visitors.

There are plentiful surf breaks along the coast, enabling your surf guides and instructors at Vista Guapa to find the wave that is best suited for your skill level and the tides. Playa Jaco or Jaco Beach, the primary training ground for Vista Guapa beginner and intermediate surfers. Jaco is a beach 5km long with consistent moderate waves. The surf is best ridden during medium to high tide and the swells come from the south, north and northwest. The bottom is sandy, which is a great comfort to beginners and intermediate surfers who are testing new limits. The average size of the waves is 2 feet to 6 feet, providing enough variety to attract several locals to the breaks in the evenings for an end of day surf session. The tides are consistent year-round.
